It is tucked into a little strip mall next to the Homewood suites. Their website is not working but it is fairly easy to find. Parking is good and they have seating inside and out. Food was quick and service was good. Everything tasted great. Only drawback was the cost. Incredibly expensive for Chinese in my opinion. 2 dishes and 4 drinks was 50 bucks.

We were greeted but we noted the floor was filthy . All of these places have the same issue no one speaks English and everyone looks like there pissed off. Same decor as every Chinese place. Asked about market price on lobster. 1 lb 39.95. When the meals finally came they were tasteless but cooked well. Hard to believe the food had no taste. Nothing special about place menu food people just not very special. Bland. Boring scratch off the list.

BEEARE OF ROACHES IN YOUR FOOD!!! After my first bite of duck-which tasted great, I came across a small roach on the plate under the duck-it had been in the sauce. It was an awful experience & they just wanted me to leave, when I said "no, I don't want to order something else."

Here's the thing...great food. Someone I assume to be a relative or friend of the owners perched himself at the bar next to me and proceeded to ruin my dinner after a long day...ranting quite loudly, and I had to move elsewhere to finish my meal. Note to this young man-child....you are an embarrassment. You embarrassed the people around you. The family business' success is about the customer experience. Americans have a low tolerance level for bad service/experience and you should recognize that. At the very least...they could have bought my drink and apologized for the disturbance. Won't be back.

Some how you lost it. Old customer and. After dinner there last two times won't even take coupon from paper. Big boss better stand at kitchen door and# 2 man should be at register to see if customer happy. Our meals were awful. Watery, no flavor, stale soggy chips. Shame on cook.

Delicious food that is healthy and not loaded with salt, sugar and MSG. They custom make their food to your needs.

I'd avoid Mr Zhangs for take out. Seriously. Worst Chinese take out I've ever had. Ever. Fried rice was literally just steamed white rice they put some soy sauce in with frozen peas and carrot cubes. Kid you not. Cubed carrots and peas like from a grocery store in a frozen brick... I remember it from my childhood in the 80s...I recognize that crap anywhere. Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. Worst "fried rice" ever. Not fried rice. Not even close. Faux rice. Thas what that was. Inedible. Totally inedible. Got our Orange Beef order wrong and gave us chicken, more like mystery string meat. Just sugared mystery meat. No flavor. Yum Yum and Hong Kong are so much better for your money. And your tastebuds. I will never, ever order take out from there again. The worst Chinese take out I have ever had. Worst.Ever.

It was just alright. Food was okay, very pricey for the amount of food. Much better food places in the same plaza. I wouldn't ever recommend it.

Best asian restaurant in south florida. Get the bacon wrapped shrimp balls. OMG. Egg drop soup is the 2nd best I've ever had. Roast pork lo mein is THE BEST. shrimp and leek dumplings were amazing. Mongolian beef was decent. Rice is meh but they make up for it with the best noodlez ever.

Although the food is vary good, my family and I will hesitate to eat here . In early December I made a reservation for. 6:00 p.m. On Christmas Day for. 6 adults and. 5 children. At 3:00 p. m. That day I called to confirm and was told that they had absolutely no record of my reservation . The same thing occurred two years ago. My family and I had a difficult time finding another place to eat. The woman who denied having any record of my reservation was rather curt and unapologetic . I feel that customers should be treated better than this and,as previously stated , I would hesitate to eat here. Friends with whom I shared this information agreed .

My go to for Chinese food! I've had both take-out and dine-in. If I had to pick I would dine in every time! My first experience with take out here was not a good one and I vowed to never get take out again but when I gave in due to being sick and tried again it was an improvement from the first time but the best experiences are always dining in! I have found for the same exact order it is cheaper to get it to go but I don't think it's enough for me to order take-out, I'd rather experience it fresh out of the kitchen at the restaurant. I have never been disappointed dining in and I go about once a month, the food is always fresh and tastes great! If you're looking for Chinese food definitely give it a try!

Food is average but grossly overpriced. Ordered pork dumplings for $6.75. Plate came out with 4 on it. Average take out place is 6. That is 25% more. Also order a basic noodle dish that was $16. Normal takeout place $12. When I questioned waiter he smirked and shrugged his shoulders instead of suggesting he would let me talk to manager or owner.

The food was good- but we had a bizarre experience with who I can only assume is the owner. We had a 7:30 reservation for a group of 5. We arrived 15 minutes early (I'm from Chicago, I guess we always assume there's gonna be traffic!) and it was very crowded by the front hostess stand. Lots of people waiting for carry out orders. There was not a lot of place to stand so we sort of got pushed into the restaurant area near a big round table that was all set with 5 place settings. I said to my mom, I bet this is our table right here! Anyway when we finally got near the hostess stand, the owner (I'll just call her that since she was SUPER authoritative) said, "7:30 reservation? Too early! Too early!" and physically hustled us outside. Like, herded us out the door. So, adequately chided, we stood outside for 15 minutes until 7:30, then walked back in... only to be seated at EXACTLY the same empty table we stood next to at 7:15. I can understand if our table wasn't ready, but it was sitting there empty! And she literally pushed us out the door for 15 minutes. Give me a break. As a side note, she seemed super nice to some of the other tables so maybe if you're a regular you don't get the Chairman Mao treatment.

Though the quality of the food is excellent, my visits are always a major let down. The wait staff has no interpersonal skills whatsoever, not even the common courtesy to say hello and thank you. The owner lady is repulsive. She is outright rude and arrogantly acts entitled. As good as the food can be she makes me want to throw it up. Expensive too.

An amazing dinner experience. I don't understand how the ratings on Mr. Zhang's could be so low. I've been coming here for years (we travel 30 minutes just to get here), and we've NEVER had one single bad experience. I've brought dozens of family members and all but ONE said it was the BEST they've ever had! I lived in New York most of my life and these folks cook like it was located on Bayard Street in Chinatown! IF you are expecting CHINESE BUFFET with copious amounts of inexpensive food, forget it! This is a traditional, old style Chinese Restaurant. The quality of the food is unsurpassed, the portions are more then generous and the service is impeccable. If you are looking for traditional NEW YORK Style Chinese food, you can't beat Mr. Zhangs. The owner told us, even if its NOT on the menu, just ask and we can make it! Where else are you going to find THAT?!?!? Service was perfect, even on New Year's Eve! Try the stuffed eggplant!!!!! If it s a QUALITY Chinese dining experience you are looking for, this is it!

I'll keep this short and simple since my experience here was very short lived. Pros: big portions, fast service, and reasonable prices. Cons: the food lacked flavor, the food was very salty (msg) and the veggie lo mein made me feel nauseous after eating it Whenever I get sick from eating at a restaurant, that pretty much seals the deal for me that I wont be returning. The food was probably dirty since I almost always get sick after eating dirty food. No thanks Mr. Zhang. Oh, one last note. I ordered my food to go and the lady handed me my food in a brown paper bag. I asked her if there was a fork in the bag and she said no. Now how would I have eaten my food if I hadn't double checked for plastic utensils?

Just Ok. Service was just ok. Waiter was grumpy and in a big hurry every time he stopped at table. There was a picture of a dish on the menu And I asked what it was. He told me chicken curry. So I ordered it. My dish looked nothing like the picture. I asked on the way out what the dish was in the picture and they told me it was a picture from a Thai Restaurant and not on their menu. It would have been nice for the Server to tell me that so I could have ordered something else.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We had the chicken mushroom soup, chicken was tender and vegetables perfectly cooked. Dinner was the the Happy Family and Szchuan Scallops. Fresh ingredients, lots of flavor. It has been hard to find good Chinese food in Florida. Service was fast and attentive. The only reason for four stars is the floor of the restaurant needed some attention.

It's probably about as good as you might find here. Origins seem Cantonese but GM shrimps is quite nice. Love the portions and the great packaging. Mu shu good but pancakes seemed more like tortillas. Large portions compensate for prices, share!

It was terrible. The hot & sour soup tastes like BUTT. Not that I know what that tastes like seriously it was terrible.the szchecwan pork was tasteless really. I was lucky the Kung pow chicken was nicely spiced. Won't go back.

Florida is a wasteland for Chinese Food lovers, it is very depressing. So I was very happy to find this place while living in Jupiter. The food is very tasty and very high quality. It is the only Chinese I would eat in Palm Beach County. It's fancy and a tad pricey, which is fine, but sometimes you want to have some cheap and greasy options too (those options in Jupiter are usually gross tho). Coming from California, you can have your choice of every variety from cheap to fancy, authentic to Americanized, and it is all very VERY good and tasty. My three favorite dishes here are the Grand Mariner Prawn, Mandarin Orange Beef, and the General Gao's Chicken. So delicious! The atmosphere is very pleasant for a nice evening out, and the wait staff is very nice. Check it out!

Mr Zhang's was a Yelp find, thanks to the other Yelpers! The menu has a lot of variety and the food was good quality, delicious and quickly prepared. My fiance was grateful to find several Dim Sum items on the menu and they were willing to accommodate his 'no garlic' request. The staff at Mr Zhang's was friendly and helpful and the restaurant is very clean. My only complaint is that there was a TV showing gruesome animal attacks on the Animal Planet during our entire visit! Ha!

I gave Mr Zhangs another shot per the hotel recommendation from the manager - food was better and I got a lot of free hot mustard! thank you - very good food and great location Previous review: I did take out from the homewood suites next door. The girl on the phone put me on hold for over 10 minutes I finally hung up and called back. I ordered the general gau chicken, egg roll and beef teriyaki - I asked for the general gau to be extra hot and to get a lot of hot mustard. The food was hot well packaged. I got one 1oz cup of hot mustard wanted more but they asked for more $ I had already cleared out and so turned it down, I hate the wussy packet mustard. The chicken was not spicy, it was crispy and well cooked, sauce ok, broccoli very wilted. The egg roll was standard, but the teriyaki beef sticks lacked teriyaki but tasted like curry. I tried it because it was with in walking distance, next time I will drive out. Sorry it was good for the evening but I will not return, after the aggravation of being blown off on the phone, no or wrong spice on the food and asking for more money for another ounce of mustard. yeah

I've eaten here on two occasions for dinner. Tried hot and sour soup, roast duck, kung pao scallops and pei pa tofu. All dishes were prepared well. Dinner portions were large but expensive. Given the price, I found the entrees to be heavy on the veggies and light on the meat. The service was poor the first time. It did improve the second time as there was a manager clearly watching over the waitstaff in the dining area.

This restaurant was recommended by a family member. Our group ordered a few dishes. The vegetable dishes were ok, however, I think they use a heavy dose of MSG since I got a nasty headache afterward. It's a thing with me. Joe+MSG=Migraine Sickness Guaranteed. Unfortunately, I failed to ask if they used it. This also means I avoid Chinese restaurants on the whole. If this isn't a problem for you, you'll find some nice dishes here. The place was clean and well organized, however, we came on an off time.

Doesn't really deliver. Food is good, ask them to leave out the MSG.

I do not have one bad thing to say about this place. We eat here almost every Sunday night. I have had almost everything on the menu and there hasn't been one thing that I do not like. Tonight we started with shrimp dumplings (the one thing we get every single time we come) and chicken lettuce wraps. For our main course we had the roast duck (you get a lot of duck for the price too), butterfly shrimp, and kung pao scallops. All equally delicious. I have to comment on the service because it is a main reason we keep coming back. The wait staff is amazing.. now that we are considered "regulars", they know our orders, joke around with us, and they are some of the most pleasant people I have ever met.

The only reason this place gets 2 stars instead of 1 is because the people that work there are very nice, and the cold sesame noodles were good. That's it. Got takeout last night here & it was gross. The szechuan tofu contained what seemed to be peas and carrots that were once frozen, possibly fresh peppers and mushrooms, some sad, floppy tofu, and sauce that was clearly bought in a jug or bucket. Oh yeah, it had a lovely black hair in it too. The tofu and vegetable soup had the same lackluster tofu, some chopped vegetables (including iceberg lettuce- really????) in a flavorless broth. I forced myself to eat some of this mess (because I hate to waste food), but my husband chose to go hungry. Can't blame him. Skip this place.

Best Chinese food in the area! Really surprisingly good, and much better than anything around. I was born in Hawaii where there is a Chinese restaurant every half mile, and this is better than almost all of the places there too!

This restaurant was recommended by friends. Went for dinner with my husband, daughter and 2 grandchildren. We started with hot & sour soup and wonton soup which were both very very good. We then had vegetable lo mien, beef with mixed vegetables and grand mariner shrimp (huge delicious shrimp). Everything was very tasty and gobbled up quickly. The service was excellent. Will definitely go back.

The Grand Mariner prawns are what round this place up to five stars for me. I usually don't even bother with Chinese restaurants in South Florida, which tend to resemble Panda Express but with dingy 1980s decor. For an American Chinese restaurant with moderate (but not cheap) prices, I definitely haven't been anywhere in South Florida that can exceed Mr. Zhangs, and it's a must-stop for me when I'm in the area. The service is efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable, at least in my experiences. The dining area is nicely decorated and is definitely a step up from your aforementioned Chinese restaurant, but at the same time doesn't feel pretentious. The Grand Mariner prawns are probably not based off a traditional Chinese recipe, but that is one awesome dish that you don't see too often. I was skeptical on my first try, but the sauce proved to be surprisingly subtle in flavor, not at all syurpy or cloyingly sweet like you might expect, but definitely unique. The application of the sauce is similarly well-balanced. The prawns come topped with a liberal amount of house-roasted walnuts that are among the best examples of such that I have tasted. The prawns are tender with a light breading, and even the steamed broccoli that line the plate are perfectly cooked. This is definitely one of my top 10 dishes in all of South Florida. Yes, I said it! The sizzling Mongolian beef is good as well; nice flavor, fresh vegetables, but the beef was just a tad chewy. The hot pot dishes are pretty good as well, and pretty much everything else I have tried is at least four-star worthy.

This is the place for the best chinese food in the area. Try homemade dumplings, they are to die for. Do order a few dishes and share them..they all taste good and freshly prepared. The service is sometimes warm and sometimes so so. The vegetable soup is very healthy with the tofu. It gets busy here on weekends with older crowds looking for a nice meal to share.Lunch is a bargain.

Best Chinese food in the area, try dimsum there, closest to the quality of hong kong without flying there. Noted: I'm from HK!

    (5)
  • Pete M.

This is the best lunch value spot in the area. Shrimp with lobster sauce is spot on

    (5)
  • Daniel M.

Pros: -YAYYY..they have Dim Sum. Try finding THAT anywhere else in PB county -friendly service -Lotus Leaf Wraps -pork buns -did I mention Dim Sum? Cons: -disorganized front end in terms of hosting. Have seen people get very testy because they get confused about who is "first." -They frequently run 10% discount coupons and it results in the place being patronized primarily by retirees. God love em, they knock the life out of any dining room with constant dissatisfaction and quibbling. We avoid that scene at all cost. Head there later in the evening for Dim Sum and you will have a nice time. Go in early for chinese and you will be taking your chances with the crowded atmosphere.

Mr. Zhang's in Palm Beach Gardens Florida is great! Summary Food 5 Stars Service 5 Stars Ambiance 3.75 (boring strip mall location but clean and pleasant inside) Price 3 (food is pricey for Chinese) Menu (dine in or take-out) Mr. Zhang's web site 4650 Donald Ross Rd, Palm Beach Gardens, FL (561) 624-2946 My Review I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for many years and had great access to some of the best Chinese restaurants in the U.S. Everything from spectacular hole in the wall choices to fine dining the likes of which I've had in Hong Kong. I have a decent idea of what passes for quality Chinese food. Needless to say, living in South Florida over the last six years has been a huge disappointment. You'd think with our influx of New Yorkers, who are accustomed to some excellent Chinese dining choices, we'd have better Chinese restaurants here. Sadly, the Chinese cooks seem to have all stayed up north or back home in China! Mr. Zhang's in Jupiter Florida is one of only two "good quality" Chinese food dining experiences I've had between Miami and here in the greater West Palm Beach area. We visited Mr. Zhang's in July 2008 and all of our selections were of good quality as compared to the best quality I've experienced in the Bay Area. For this market, I would rate Mr. Zhang's food in the 'outstanding' column. The Palm Beach Post seems to agree, giving their flagship dish (Grand Mariner Prawn) their top dish award in 2006 (typically known as Honey Walnut Shrimp/Prawns in most Chinese restaurants) . Mr. Zhang's Beijing Chicken was also excellent! The only negatives I can think of are the boring strip mall location (that's South Florida for you) and the price. Which isn't a knock on Mr. Zhang's, but more a reflection of my preference for excellent cheap Chinese food! Mr. Zhang's is more of a mid-priced dining experience as far as Chinese restaurants go. We got out the door for $112.10 (without tip) with one drink each for two adults, soup, 1 appetizer (Fried Wonton) and food enough for us and three kids helping us eat. That's not a cheap family meal but if you're looking for a treat for the whole family that's on par in price with most chains you won't be disappointed with Mr. Zhang's. In fact, at Mr. Zhang's you're going to enjoy much better food quality and service for the money than any national chain. Let me close by just pointing out just how good the service is in this restaurant. You never have a chance to even think about wanting a drink refill or some other assistance. I highly recommend Mr. Zhang's. If you know of a good Chinese food restaurant in the South Florida market I WANT TO KNOW. Stop by my blog and leave me a comment on this review: blog.julians.name/2008/0…

Our search for decent Chinese food in the Jupiter area led us to Mr. Zhang's. Unfortunately, we're still searching. Dishes are expensive and skimpy on the key ingredients. Although the dishes are passable, they certainly are catered to local residents and not authentic tasting. I found the nearby Panda Express-clone, "China Star", to be a more homemade experience. Unlike other reviewers, however, I did find the service to be friendly and attentive.

having moved here recently from new jersey.....there are places you need immediately...and a good chinese restaurant was one of those things. mr.zhang's is a "good" chinese restaurant. last night we ate there for the 3rd time. the service is good and friendly, the portions are big (yay) and tasty. i am giving them a "3" because the meat dish had mostly vegetables (has happened before). will be our regular chinese place until someone recommends something else. oh btw we're still looking for a bagel place!!!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
